Figure derived from data presented in Rosenabaum et al (1). Polynomial curves have been fitted through data with a three group moving average standard deviation. One of the lowest standard deviations is at birth. This is not congruent with the remaining data and I have chosen not to set the intercept - this way the data conform better with Han and Babcock (2). The data are limited by very small numbers above 16 years of age. The results are only approximate and consideration should be given to adult renal sizes - certainly this tool cannot be used in adults.
